Before he wrote the country #1 hit “Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys” for Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, Ed Bruce was a teenaged rockabilly artist at Memphis’ Sun Records. With his deep voice, chugging rockabilly rhythms and driving guitar, Ed Bruce cut tracks like “Rock Boppin’ Baby” and “Eight Wheel Driver,” the first song he ever wrote, of which an alternate version is making its digital debut on Sun Records Originals: Rock Boppin’ Baby.
